OmniSci (formerly MapD) is seeking a Sales Engineer to add to its US Federal Team based in Washington, D.C. As a Sales Engineer, you will be the trusted technical advisor that prospective clients rely upon when evaluating and demonstrating how OmniSci solves their big data analytics challenges. You will identify client pain points and drive technical alignment between those needs and the OmniSci platform. You will serve as a product and industry expert, effectively describing and demonstrating the solution while also promoting our vision and approach. OmniSci Sales Engineers are instrumental to the customer journey and growth of the company. Candidates with previous experience working with data as a Business Intelligence Analyst or Data Analyst that have moved into the Sales Engineering space are strongly preferred.

Our office is located in downtown San Francisco, but this position will be based in Washington, D.C. and work remotely. This position will initially report to the Sales Engineering Manager based in San Francisco, CA. This is an individual contributor role and will not manage other people.
Obtain a deep understanding of OmniSci's technology and be willing to learn new technologies as needed.
Articulate OmniSci's value proposition to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Engage with prospects and clients to demonstrate and communicate the value of OmniSci throughout the sales cycle, from demo to proof of concept.
Work closely with the product management and engineering teams to align client requirements with future product enhancements.
Maintain deep understanding of the big data and analytics ecosystem and how to position OmniSci in relation to other technologies.
5+ years supporting Federal customers in a sales engineer or similar pre-sales role.
5+ years supporting Federal integrators.
US Citizen.
Previous experience working as a BI Analyst or Data Analyst working with data analytics is essential.
Experience and track record of success selling data and/or analytics software to enterprise customers; includes proven skills identifying key stakeholders, winning value propositions, and compelling events.
Strong working knowledge of SQL for query optimization and data model design is essential.
Hands-on experience with Linux file system.
Familiarity and experience with common BI and data exploration tools.
Understanding of complete data analytics stack and workflow, from ETL to BI and analytics tools (Tableau, Qlik, Cognos, Power BI, etc.).
Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
